Two persons were on Wednesday stabbed to death after a group of armed robbers raided Amenze Street, off Costain road in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.
The robbers reportedly robbed over eight houses, inflicting injuries on victims who had no money to give, while killing some.
Narrating the ordeal to newsmen, wife of one of the victims, Mrs. Erhun Ogiorio, said she begged the robbers not to kill her husband but they went ahead and stabbed him multiple times.
She said, “When they came in, one of them held a gun and the other one a knife.
‘’I told them we don’t have money that my husband is a civil servant. I wanted to give them phones but they stabbed my husband in the stomach and on the chest.’’
Another victim who is currently receiving treatment but pleaded anonymity also told newsmen that he was stabbed twice by the robbers. “When they came into my room, they asked me to lie down.’’
He said, ‘’They collected N70, 000 from me after beating me before they moved to other houses.
‘’Robbers terrorize us In this area very well.’’
The Spokesperson of the Edo State Police command, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said it was a case of cult clash.
He said the police was yet to arrest any suspect. “What we were told was that rival cult was fighting, two persons were stabbed. No arrest has been made.
‘’But we have started investigations and we will get to the root of this attack.’’
