Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State, who is presidential aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP), has enjoined the PDP delegates to the national convention to vote for a candidate with unquestionable credibility and proper requisites for leadership.
The governor who made call at the secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Minna, Niger state on Tuesday, while addressing delegates from the state as part of his nationwide consultation tour, said “Vote for a candidate with leadership experience and capacity. Somebody that has comparative advantage over the rest like my good self.”
He went said, “With my experience as a legislator, part of which I served at different capacities which culminated with my tenure as a Speaker.
“As a lawyer and live member of body of benchers and also my executive experience as a governor, I have full understanding of what it takes to pilot the affairs of this nation and return it to the part of unity and development.
“We need informed leadership that will open up the system for Nigerians to show what they are capable of here at home, instead of exporting their skills.” Tambuwal said.
Also stated that he would not run a government that would serve only the interest of a few people but for all Nigerians if voted into power in the 2019 general elections.
He also added that job creation for the teeming youths in the country and women development would be given top priority in his government.
“I will not run a government of a few for interest of a few, if given the opportunity to serve this nation as a president. No section of this great nation would be denied the opportunity of human or capital development. Nigeria is blessed and every Nigerian should naturally benefit from this God given blessing, and every good opportunity to develop and fulfill our potentials as a people.
“In me, you have a personality who will, with your support and the support of Nigerians, win the coming presidential election convincingly. And I assure you that we shall evenly distribute the wealth of this nation; projects and development across the nation because Nigeria belongs to all of us, irrespective of ethnic or religious background”. His words.
Responding, the Niger state PDP chairman, Barrister Tanko Beji, hailed Tambuwal’s leadership capacity for bridge building, peacemaking and plans to give the people a nation of equal opportunities, adding that the former speaker “falls within the age bracket, exposure and intelligence of emerging global leaders. This is the time to change from old to new and from analogue to digital.”
