Buhari, go to Mambilla Plateau for your holidays_ Gov’s aide.

President Muhammadu Buhari has been admonished to patronise holiday resorts in Nigeria, especially the Mambilla Plateau located in Taraba state. The president is currently on a vocation in the United Kingdom, where he is also undergoing some routine medical check ups.
But according to the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku on Public Affairs, Emmanuel Bello, Buhari has to lead by example. In a statement, Bello noted that, “it is not right, for a government advocating that people should buy made in Nigeria, that the president continue to demonstrate a disdain for his own country’s facilities. It sends the wrong signals. He should come to the Mambilla Plateau for instance and make the place our own Camp David. Mambilla has the weather conditions of even the United Kingdom and the scenery to match. Buhari would also enjoy the warmth and hospitality of the people. The food there would increase his well being. And, since he has a love for cow rearing, he would love the Mambilla because I believe the place has the highest number of cows anywhere in Nigeria.”
Bello said patronising the Mambilla would boost the tourism sector in Nigeria. “I wonder when we are going to see even African leaders coming to patronise our tourism potentials. Why are the presidents of smaller African countries not coming over here? If we start to show some seriousness in patronising our own tourist endowments, I believe we would attract outsiders. But what you find now is that even law makers find it convenient to go out of Nigeria to rest. But they won’t find rest until the return home and develop the tourism sector.”
Bello said the government of Governor Ishaku has fixed the roads leading to the Mambilla Plateau and has activated the dormant airport in Jalingo. He said toursits can now access the facility without stress.
