Rio 2016| Mikel Scores, as Nigeria Reach Semi Finals

Nigeria is through to the semi-finals of the 2016 Olympic football tournament.

John Obi Mikel and Aminu Umar scored the goals, at either side of half time, to send the Dream Team VI to Sao Paulo for a meeting with Germany  on Wednesday. Nigeria was the most attack minded side. Imoh Ezekiel shone like a bright star  for the Dream Team, a constant thorn in the neck of the Danes.

Here is how the game unfolded !

It has been an entertaining first 45 minutes with Nigeria enjoying a bright start and they deserved their goal, but Denmark have fought back and forced two big saves from the Nigeria shot stopper Emmanuel Daniel

45+1 – Late rally by Denmark, but both teams go into the dressing room with Nigeria a goal up

Certainly a very start for the African champions, but they need to make this count by scoring goals
